I'll add the dialogue tomorrow. I just wanted to show off the purty pitchurs.

Post 100!

Welcome to post number 100 everybody! Thanks to everyone who's been keeping an eye on this here blog. Your comments really keep me going, so don't be shy.
Anyway, just for a change I decided to draw my son Daniel's character Jetboy. remember all those kid's story drawings I did? Basically they represent the world of Jetboy. The story I was originally planning was pretty complex, but I thought it would appeal more to a 4-year-old if it was just a straightforward, fight-the-bad-guy-rescue-the-princess kind of a thing. My son's verdict? "Draw Transformers!"
Cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, my eye!

Yes, it's a real Welsh folk song. It's called The Ash Grove. That's verisimilitude, bitches! Also, the lowbrow quality of popular entertainment in the Middle Ages is pretty accurate. Henry II (Richard the Lionheart's father) granted an inheritance to a jester who performed the king's favourite routine, described as a leap, a whistle and a fart. His descendants were entitled to the estate, provided they could reproduce the act. Who says history is boring.

Much in colour!!

Check it out! French comics colourist Monika Brozda was kind enough to do these sample pages for me (actually she's Polish, but she's done work for Spirou in France). Aren't they amazing? I'm thrilled! I'll be putting them into a pitch to send around to publishers in the near future. Check out Monika's blog here: http://yolk.cloudtower.com/
